Wycliffe Bible Translators (Wycliffe)

Wycliffe Bible Translators is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making God's word accessible to all people in their own language. Although, bible translation is a significant part of their mission, it is not the only mission. They not only strive to spread the mesage of Christ, but to live it out as well. Wycliffe missionaries have to be very dedicated and motivated, as a translation of the New Testiment can take as much as 20 years.

Wycliffe was founded in 1942 by William Cameron Townsend. There are currently branches in over 50 countries. The organization is named after John Wycliffe, the first person to initiate a translation of the whole Bible into Middle English. The number of languages in which New Testaments or Bibles have been completed with Wycliffe personnel involved now stands at over 600.
